This was revealed in a statement signed by the senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, Garba Shehu. cortana is here...

Like initially done on Skype, Microsoft’s translation service has now been integrated with Cortana, the personal digital assistant on Windows 10. Users of Windows 10 will now be able to translate words, phrases, and sentences into almost 40 languages from the desktop. Real-time translation feature can be accessed by saying “hey Cortana, how do you say” followed by the sentence they want to translate, and the language they want to hear it in. For example, you could say “hey Cortana, translate ‘where is the nearest taxi stand’ in French?” to find out how to get a cab from your Paris hotel, or “Hey Cortana, how to say ‘garlic’ in German?” And get the answer, “Knoblauch.”  The user will also be able to translate without using voice by typing the same request into the taskbar and Cortana will find a translation into the chosen language. Cortana could previously aid with some translation, but the new feature is now more comprehensive, offering more languages than before, includi...

Soyinka, who was appointed Chairman, CBCIU Board by Osun State Governor Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola in August 2012 told The Guardian at the weekend that even when the court case instituted to determine who among the two groups has the right to oversee the affairs of the centre is dispensed with, “there is also ethical issue that must be resolved.” Before Soyinka’s appointment, Oyinlola was holding the fort as the Board Chairman since January 2009 when the ...

JUSTICE Olabisi Ogungbesan of a Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja has halted the ongoing coronation ceremony to fill the vacant stool of Ayangburen of Ikorodu in Lagos State. The court order has stalled the ceremony to crown the new Ayangburen that was fixed to hold today August 15, 2015.  Following the demise of Oba S. A. While ruling yesterday in a suit filed by one Odupitan Eniola, who is from the Lambo branch of the Lasunwon chieftaincy family of Ikorodu Kingdom, Justice Ogungbesan found merit in Eniola’s application, and therefore stopped Shotebi’s coronation as prayed. Ogungbesan said she was satisfied from the evidence placed before the court that unquantifiable damages would be done if the coronation ceremony was allowed to go on as scheduled.  therefore, restrained the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, or anyone acting under his authority, from going ahead on today to crown the current ...

Would YOU have sex with a robot? Experts claim it will be a norm in the next 50 years. Pictured above is android Anita from Channel 4 drama Humans, who at one point in the drama is used as a sex bot by a married man, causing problems in the marriage. The sex scene between the man and her shocked audiences. According to academic Dr Helen Driscoll, a sex psychologist, in a blog post for the Huffington Post, humans spend more time in virtual realities – including online gaming and social media. And our physical relationships will come to be seen as primitive in the near future as humanity embraces machines as partners. Sex mannequins that you can order online already exist, and rapid advances in technology will enable them to ‘come to life’. Robophilia – the word for a sexual attraction to robots – seems like an alien concept to us now, but could become the norm as our attitudes catch up to the technology. ‘As virtual reality becomes more realistic and immersive and is able to m...

India’s foremost HIV/AIDS researcher Dr. Suniti Solomon, who documented the nation’s first HIV case before setting up the first voluntary testing and counseling center for the disease, died Tuesday at her home in the southern city of Chennai. Solomon,  who was 76 , began tracking the infection at a time when many in the country were reluctant to delve into what was a little known field. In 1986, her discovery of the infection in six blood samples collected from female sex workers in southern India generated headlines internationally. Speaking to TIME  in September 1986, after the first Indian cases had been documented, a former senior medical official said: “We in India have been shaken and face a moment of truth.” Trained in the U.K., the U.S. and Australia, Solomon won a string of awards for her HIV/AIDS work. Her pioneering research was prompted by reports on HIV in international journals. “Those were the days when I was reading a lot of foreign journals on the HIV and...
